What can i use for fuel in a zippo lighter?

i found 2 old zippo lighters. they both still make sparks. however when i checker the inside it was dry as a bone. i want to know what i can fill it with to make it work. i mean besides zippo fuel. i want to fill it for free, so household items would be good.|||Hello there,



There is absolutely no safe substitute for cigarette lighter fluid. It need not be Zippo brand, but it must be cigaretter lighter fluid. There is nothing in your house that you can use if you do not have cigarette lighter fluid.



Cigarette ligher fluid costs a couple bucks. If you want to use the lighters go buy some. Anything else will not burn, will not burn correctly and may inure you.

Later,|||Zippo recommends you use only Zippo Lighter fluid. In a pinch, you can also you Ronson lighter fluid. Definitely do not use any household items. You can find lighter fluid at any local convenience store.|||Unless you want to risk your Zippo to maybe blow up, you better get some Zippo fuel from the store.
