How do I get my Zippo to light?

I have a newly bought zippo lighter which used to work perfectly shortly after buying it.

A few hours later, almost every time I try to light the wick, it won't catch. The striker and flint seem to work fine and still make a spark, I've refueled the lighter many times, reposition the wick in all places but still the flame rarely catches.

I also tried using some new wick, but the problem is still there.

How do I fix it?|||Send your lighter back to Zippo and they'll repair it and return it to you for free. It will be just like a brand new lighter.

ZIPPO WINDPROOF POCKET LIGHTER

Remove the inside unit from the lighter and allow the fuel to evaporate for two or three days.

Replace the inside unit in the lighter case.

Package lighter securely in an oversized box or padded shipping bag (large packages are less likely to be lost or misplaced in transit.)

Multiple lighters may be sent in one package.

Include your name, address, telephone number and email address on a note inside the package.

Insure your package, send via a trackable method to:

|||Take it back to the place of purchase and ask them to replace it or repair it. If you purchased it online email the seller that it is defective and you would like a replacement (and ask if they would like the defective one returned). You could also contact the manufacturer of the lighter - it sounds as though you just have a defective one. Good luck!|||You've probably put too much fuel in it. Let it dry out for a few days and then try it.
