While I was checking out auctions on eBay I found two kinds of lighter that seem to be the same. However, a flip top lighter is cheaper than a zippo, so I guess there must be a difference. But what?|||Zippo is a popular brand of flip top lighters.|||Zippo is a brand.|||There is no difference because a Zippo is a flip top lighter.
Zippo is effectively marketing their brand of flip top lighters to the point where we refer to those type of lighters as zippo's.
Ingenious. It's like kleenix and tissue.
